Take Action
Foster Village started in 2016 as a grass-roots community movement, grown by passionate and like-minded community members with a desire to use their time, gifts, and resources to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. Whether your contribution is time, monthly financial support, donations of necessary items, corporate sponsorship, or specific talents that you’d like to share- we’d love to have you as part of the village.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Delivery Team – We need help delivering Welcome Packs, beds, car seats, and other basic necessities to children entering foster care! Volunteers must be willing to drive within the McLennan County vicinity. Commitment and hours are flexible, compassion for children and families walking through hard circumstances is a must. We add volunteers to a group notification app where you’ll have the option to step up for needs as they arise based on your own availability. Background check and training will be provided.
Sorting and Organizing– We host occasional sorting days throughout the year at our Care Closet. Sign-up to join the email list for upcoming sorting events.
Fundraising /Event Committee– help with planning and preparing fundraisers and events throughout the year. Prior non-profit fundraising or event planning experience a plus. Flexible schedule and time commitment.
All volunteers are subject to criminal background checks. Please fill out a volunteer form with your interests, location, and availability and we will be in touch:

Donations and group projects:
When you donate new and “like new” items, they will be given directly to foster children in central Texas. We organize basic necessities, clothes, new undergarments, socks, toothbrushes, and some wish list items into Welcome Packs for each child who comes into care, along with supplying families with larger items such as beds, cribs, and car seats. When available, we also include thoughtful donations- in the form of gift certificates or discount cards- from local businesses that want to support and uplift foster families and children. Your monetary and tangible donations are making a significant impact in the lives of these children and the families caring for them.
Some ways to get involved:
Email us at volunteer@fostervillagewaco.org for more information about any of these opportunities.
Some ways to get involved:
- Host a donation drive to collect these much needed new items- socks, diapers, underpants, hair brushes, pajamas, children’s bibles, and gift cards for foster families.
- Create packages of encouragement for foster families needing a boost. Items such as inspirational quotes to hang, family craft projects, gift cards and tickets to local events.
- Host a fundraiser. Whether it’s a child’s lemonade stand or an established business wanting to give back to the community, we are grateful for our partners with a desire to show their support for foster families and the children in their care.
- Become a monthly partner. You choose the amount that you are able to contribute each month to make it possible for us to meet the needs of these children and families.

DonateYour donations of childhood necessities are delivered directly to the foster children who need them most. Please check our list of items needed if you’re interested in donating. Also, keep in mind that we value these children and want the donated items to reflect that they are deserving of nice things in good condition.

In addition to items donated by the community, Foster Village also uses tax-deductible monetary donations to cover the cost of special request items that we do not have in inventory, special request emergency items, and therapeutic tools through our Project SOOTHe program. Your support in making this possible is greatly appreciated.
